Rome, Jan 30 (LaPresse) – Roma overcame Eintracht Frankfurt and qualified for the Europa League play-offs. In the match at the Stadio Olimpico Claudio Ranieri's Giallorossi dominated the Germans (third in the Bundesliga), taking the lead in the 44th minute of the first half: Gianluca Mancini's cross from the right found Angelino's volley. The ball was deflected by Tuta but the goal was all the Spaniard's. In the second half Roma increased in intensity and in the 69th minute they doubled the score through Shomurodov (who took over from a tired Dovbyk) served in by Soule (who came on in place of Saelemaekers, who was booked). The Uzbek was set off at speed and pierced Trapp after a rebound. Roma ended the first phase in 15th place with 12 points.
