Rome, February 15 (LaPresse) – "We acknowledge the announcement made by the World Anti-Doping Agency regarding the agreement reached with Jannik Sinner to resolve WADA's appeal.
The original process was conducted in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the Tennis Anti-Doping Program. Following a thorough investigation by ITIA (which included consultation with WADA-accredited laboratories), we determined that the player had established the source of the prohibited substance and that the violation was unintentional.
Today's outcome confirms this conclusion."
This was stated in a press release by ITIA, the International Tennis Integrity Agency, which recalled having referred the matter to an independent panel that ruled "No Fault or Negligence", thus imposing no suspension based on the facts and the application of the rules.
"The three-month sanction was only possible due to the agreement between WADA and the player."
