Ski, World Cup: Paris 6th in the second downhill in Kvitfjell. Von Allmen wins

Milan, March 8. (LaPresse) – The Swiss powerhouse strikes back. After being defeated by Dominik Paris in the first downhill in Kvitfjell, they took command of the operations with a triple victory, led by World Champion Franjo Von Allmen, who finished 28 hundredths ahead of Marco Odermatt and 38 hundredths ahead of Stefan Rogentin. Paris finished in sixth place. Von Allmen keeps the competition open with Odermatt for the discipline's cup: with a time of 1’45"46, he secured his third overall World Cup victory (in addition to the World Championship in Saalbach) and reduced Odermatt’s lead by twenty points, with the Swiss skier now in second place.

With only the downhill at the Sun Valley finals remaining in the season, Odermatt is wearing the red bib with 605 points, 83 points ahead of the World Champion. Just off the podium, in fourth place, is Slovenian Miha Hrobat, 0.43 seconds behind, followed by Norwegian Adrian Sejersted in fifth at 0.51 seconds. Then comes Paris, sixth at 0.59 seconds. The day after his triumph, the South Tyrolean skier put in another convincing performance on the Olympiabakken, but a few small mistakes kept him off the podium, despite being very close to the Swiss skiers. Behind him, Slovenian Naralocnik finished unexpectedly in seventh place (+0.75), with Canadian James Crawford in eighth at 0.87.
