In the second leg of the round of 16 the German team won 2-1 away at Lille and progressed to the next round, having won the first leg 1-0. The French took the lead with David after 5 minutes, but Borussia came back in the second half with a penalty from Emre Can in the 54th minute and a great goal from Beier in the 65th minute.
