Buenos Aires (Argentina), Mar 17 (LaPresse/AP) – Argentina star Lionel Messi will miss the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying fixtures against Uruguay and Brazil. The ‘Pulce’ has not been included in the squad list by coach Lionel Scaloni. According to the Argentine press, the player is suffering from a left thigh problem felt yesterday during Inter Miami's victory against Atlanta United in the Mls championship (2-1), however the Argentine federation did not specify the reasons for his absence. The list includes seven players who play in Italy. They are Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Leandro Paredes (Roma), Nico Gonzalez (Juventus), Maximo Perrone and Nico Paz (Como), Nicolas Dominguez and Santiago Castro (Bologna).
