Rome, March 26 (LaPresse) – Double blow for Bayern Munich, Inter's next opponent in the Champions League, as they lose Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano. Davies suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during the match between the United States and Canada, while Upamecano injured his left knee in the Nations League game between France and Croatia, which the French won 5-4 on penalties. The Bavarian club confirmed the news on its website.
"Unfortunately, there is always the risk that players return from international breaks with injuries, and this time we have been hit particularly hard," explained Max Eberl, Bayern's board member for sport. "The absence of Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano is a big blow for FC Bayern. Phonzy (Davies) will receive all the support he needs on his recovery journey. We will also closely monitor Upa (Upamecano) in the coming weeks and expect him to be available again soon. We have a strong squad and will compensate for these absences. Now we will come together even more. The quality is there to continue pursuing our big goals."
