Milan, 31st Mar. (LaPresse) – Huge brawl during the NBA match between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Detroit Pistons with five players and two coaches sent off. A few minutes before the end of the first half (with the Pistons leading 39-30) Detroit pivot Isaiah Stewart was given a technical foul for hitting Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo hard. Afterwards, Minnesota forward Naz Reid scolded his opponent Ron Holland for a foul he had suffered. Tempers immediately flared, leading to the intervention of DiVincenzo who got between the two and grabbed Holland's shirt. At that point chaos broke out, with all 10 players from both teams, coaches and trainers joining in the melee. While the players were being separated, Detroit head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, and the Timberwolves' assistant coach Pablo Prigioni began to shout at each other as they were separated by the staff. Both were ejected, as were Stewart, Holland II, Sasser, Reid and DiVincenzo. The Timberwolves won the game 123-104.
