Rome, April 5 (LaPresse) – “This is a season that leaves a bitter taste, for everyone and especially for me, since I’ve always said that qualifying for the Champions League was a must. Now that it seems far away, we can't be satisfied. But there’s also something positive: we brought home a trophy by beating two strong teams, and we’re still in the race for the Coppa Italia. It’s not enough, of course, but I can promise everyone’s utmost commitment to make next season a rewarding one. We’re already working on it.”
So said AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. Scaroni also spoke about the relationship between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Giorgio Furlani: “I see them working together at Casa Milan, and they get along perfectly. Their roles are clear: Ibra is part of RedBird’s management and is ‘loaned’ to Milan. He was criticized for being absent, but he was ill. Let me repeat: he’s a great asset. He was a champion on the field and is one off it too. He will certainly remain part of this project. But I want to stress one point: people matter, but Milan comes before everything. And we’re all aware of that.”
“When Leao turns it on, he excites all the fans – myself included,” he concluded. “It’s always tricky to name names, but in terms of consistency, I’ll mention two: Pulisic and Reijnders, who I believe have won everyone over. It’s no coincidence we want to keep them with us for a long time.”
