Washington (United States), April 5 (LaPresse) – Hockey player Alex Ovechkin scored his 894th goal in the NHL, the top North American ice hockey league, thus matching the record held by Wayne Gretzky. Ovechkin scored his 894th goal during his Washington Capitals’ 5-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. The 39-year-old Russian player is now one step away from surpassing Gretzky's record with six games left in the season.
