The Brianzoli, on the other hand, suffered their fifth defeat in their last six outings and remain stuck on 15 points: relegation to Serie B is ever closer. Yet Nesta's team went ahead after just five minutes with Mota, who broke free from Kempf and beat Butez with an angled right-footer. The visitors responded immediately, equalising in the 16th minute with Ikone's left-footed shot on Diao's invitation. It was Diao himself who, in the 38th minute, turned the game on its head, beating Turati after having skipped past Pereira. Early in the second half, in the 6th minute, after a double intervention by Butez on Keita and Mota, Fabregas' team closed the game definitively by sealing the 3-1 victory with a shot under the crossbar by Vojvoda.
