Turin, 8 Apr. (LaPresse) – Jorge Martin's return is approaching. The reigning MotoGP world champion is ready to get back on track astride his Aprilia, his new team, after missing the first three races due to an injury sustained during training. ‘I really want to get back on track and I'm happy to at least be able to try and race in Qatar,’ said the Spaniard. ’The aim will be to start building some confidence with the RS-GP25 and start lapping. I don't know what my physical condition will be like, certainly not 100%. We will try to do our best and grow slowly. Physically, I'm not even sure I can finish a race, but if we can, it will be a victory because it will mean that I am starting to recover. We have to take it one step at a time to try to get back to our level as soon as possible.’ Martin, who suffered a complex fracture of the radius and scaphoid in his left hand, and a calcaneal fracture on the same side during a training session, underwent an operation on 25 February and has followed an intensive rehabilitation programme with the aim of returning to the track as soon as possible. Before getting back on track, the current world champion will have to be evaluated by the medical delegation of the motorcycling world championship to receive the physical aptitude to compete.
