Turin, April 10 (LaPresse) – Kylian Mbappé's lawyers have launched an offensive to resolve the dispute between the World Cup winner and his former club, Paris Saint-Germain. The French forward claims that PSG owes him €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses, and his lawyers have stated they have asked the Paris court to initiate legal proceedings. Legal expert Thomas Clay confirmed that Mbappé had been authorized to proceed with the seizure of the money, which was frozen from PSG's bank accounts today. He added that a hearing is scheduled for May 26. "One year was the deadline we set to try to resolve this dispute in the most peaceful way possible," said Mbappé's lawyer, Delphine Verheyden. "And now the year has passed. A decision was made this time to go on the offensive," she added. Verheyden also stated that a request was made to the French Minister of Sports to intervene and legally challenge the decision of the French Football Federation's Appeals Committee, which had rejected Mbappé’s appeal against PSG. The lawyer also mentioned that Mbappé had asked the federation to inform UEFA about the unpaid wages, violating the club’s salary obligations. Verheyden suggested that if PSG is found responsible, it could lose its license to compete in the Champions League. Last October, the French Football Federation's Appeals Committee confirmed the decision to order PSG to pay Mbappé the overdue wages he requested: three months of salary and the final third of a loyalty bonus. PSG has always argued that following the forward’s decision not to extend his contract, a verbal agreement was made between the parties under which he would forgo the bonuses to return to the team. However, "they have not shown any proof of an agreement," Verheyden said. Mbappé's legal team also announced that they would initiate legal action against PSG for harassment regarding the treatment he received and would start another procedure at the labor court, while Mbappé and his mother have filed a lawsuit for online abuse.
