Turin, 14 Apr. (LaPresse) – The man who threw a water bottle in Mathieu Van der Poel's face during the Paris-Roubaix has been identified. The man turned himself in to the Belgian police today, according to the public prosecutor of West Flanders, and admitted to the offence. The culprit presented himself at the police station in Mira, which covers the areas of Anzegem, Avelgem, Spiere-Helkijn, Waregem and Zwevegem. His personal details have not been released. ‘It's unacceptable,’ said the Alpecin-Deceuninck rider, winner of the cobbled classic for the third time in a row, yesterday. ‘It was like getting hit in the face with a stone, it hurt a lot. I hope the spectator is identified and prosecuted.’
