Milan, April 26 (LaPresse) – The ever-reliable Marc Marquez, riding for the factory Ducati team, won the sprint race at the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit. Behind the Spanish World Championship leader came his brother, Alex Marquez, riding a Ducati for the Gresini Team, trailing by over one second. Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia, on the other factory Ducati, finished third, another second behind. Fourth was another Italian, Franco Morbidelli, on a Ducati for the VR46 Team. Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, who had started from pole position on his Yamaha, crashed out on the second lap when he slipped while trying to resist an overtaking move by Marquez. In the World Championship standings, Marc Marquez leads firmly with 135 points, ahead of his brother Alex (115 points) and Pecco Bagnaia (104 points). Tomorrow, the full race is scheduled at 2 PM.
