Milan, April 27 (LaPresse) – It's drama for Inter. Roma pulled off a surprising 1-0 victory at San Siro in a match valid for the 34th round of Serie A, putting Inter in trouble as they risk losing the top spot tonight if Napoli manages to beat Torino at the Maradona stadium. A goal by Soulé in the 22nd minute stunned San Siro and handed Inter their second consecutive league defeat, following the loss to Bologna — and third overall if we include the heavy Coppa Italia derby defeat against Milan. As if that weren’t enough, Inzaghi’s team will face a tough Champions League semifinal first leg against a high-flying Barcelona after their Copa del Rey triumph. Roma, on the other hand, secured three crucial points for their Champions League qualification hopes. The Giallorossi temporarily catch Bologna in fourth place with 60 points, awaiting the matches of Bologna, Juventus, and Lazio. The first half was full of emotions: Inter started strongly, but Roma defended well and launched dangerous counterattacks. As the minutes passed, Roma gained confidence and eventually broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute with Soulé, their best player, scoring from close range past Sommer. Roma came close to doubling their lead multiple times. Inter managed to avoid further damage but struggled to break down Roma’s solid defense, with only Arnautovic posing any real threat before halftime. To make matters worse, Inzaghi lost Pavard to injury, who was replaced by Bisseck. In the second half, Inter poured forward in search of an equalizer but left wide spaces at the back for Roma’s counterattacks.
