Turin, May 4 (LaPresse) – Enzo Maresca's Chelsea delighted their fans by defeating newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, in a match valid for the 35th round of the Premier League. Enzo Fernández opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, following a slick move initiated by Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto. In the second half, a misdirected clearance by Virgil van Dijk ricocheted off teammate Jarell Quansah, resulting in an own goal that doubled Chelsea's lead. Virgil van Dijk managed to pull one back for Liverpool in the 84th minute with a header from a corner. However, in stoppage time, Cole Palmer sealed the victory by converting a penalty awarded after Quansah fouled Moisés Caicedo, ending his personal goal drought. This win marks Chelsea's third consecutive league victory, bringing them level on points with Newcastle United in fourth place, which secures a Champions League spot, and placing them three points ahead of sixth-placed Nottingham Forest.
