Rome, May 9 (LaPresse) – From Sinner to the Pope. With the return to the courts of the number one in tennis, in his first appearance after a three-month suspension for doping, the 'Sinner' ice cream will also appear among the stands at the Foro, with strictly orange tones. A sweet 'invention' by Eugenio Morrone, a master gelato maker and former world champion in gelato, who is already looking ahead. In his laboratory, he and his staff are preparing an ice cream that reflects the style and taste of the new Pope, Leo XIV, American Robert Prevost. "Every time something happens, we try to make a dedication. Yes, I found out that he is a Roma fan and plays tennis. I went along with his styles and tastes. We’ve always done it, even with Sinner," Morrone told LaPresse. While waiting for the new 'ice cream' dedicated to the Pope to appear on the counter, there is an old recipe to bring back. The idea for Jannik’s ice cream actually started a long time ago, from the Australian Open. "It started a year ago when he still had to climb the rankings. I've always been a big admirer of him, and because of his simplicity, I thought of making an ice cream that reflects his way of being. A sorbet with late mandarin, orange, lemon, and carrot, which is the main flavor. So there's the sweetness of the carrot with the tanginess of the citrus fruits. It’s a functional ice cream with low sugar content and high in fiber, perfect for athletes," said the master pastry chef, who, in collaboration with the Italian Gelato Makers Association and the Central Dairy, will present his product at the Gelofresco stand. 'Sinner' is thus the latest 'invention' by the world champion, who with this ice cream brought good luck to the Alto Adige player.
