Rome, May 9 (LaPresse/AP) – Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has announced that he will be leaving the German club: “It's the right time to announce it,” said the Spanish coach. Kicker magazine reported that the 43-year-old informed his players before today's training session that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season, one year before his contract with the club expires in 2026. Alonso is considered the leading candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
