Rome, May 10 (LaPresse) – Empoli defeated Parma 2-1 in a match valid for the 36th round of the Serie A season, securing three crucial points in the battle to avoid relegation. The Tuscan side took the lead with a goal from Fazzini in the 11th minute but were equalized by Djuric in the 73rd. The match was decided by a goal from Anjorin in the 86th minute. The Emilia side played with ten men from the 31st minute due to Valenti being sent off after receiving a second yellow card. As a result of this victory, Empoli temporarily climbs to fourth from last in the standings with 28 points, overtaking Lecce, who will play away in Verona tomorrow. Parma remains on 32 points.
