The Tuscan tennis player, ranked ninth in the world, qualified for the semi-finals thanks to his victory over Germany's Alexander Zverev, ranked second in the world and defending champion, with a score of 7-6 (1), 6-4. This is Musetti's first semi-final at the Foro Italico and his third in a Masters 1000 tournament this season after Monte Carlo and Madrid, both on clay. On Friday, Musetti will now face Carlos Alcaraz, ranked number 3 in the world, against whom he lost in the final in Monte Carlo.
