Turin, 24 May (LaPresse) – Kasper Asgreen's feat on the roads of the Giro d'Italia. The EF Education-EasyPost rider, who had been on the breakaway since the morning together with Mirco Maestri, Martin Marcellusi and Clement Davy, triumphed alone in the 14th stage, from Treviso to Nova Gorica/Gorizia, at the end of a stage marked by a crash 22.5 km from the finish line that also involved the big names in the general classification and heated up the final part of the race, which was affected by rain. Second place went to Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck), with Olav Kooij (Visma-Lease a bike) third in a sprint with a small group of riders. Isaac Del Toro retained the pink jersey, gaining seconds on his teammate Juan Ayuso and Primoz Roglic. It was a day to forget for the Italians: both Antonio Tiberi and Giulio Ciccone were involved in the crash and lost ground on the other leaders in the general classification.
