Turin, June 5 (LaPresse) – Marco Baroni is the new head coach of Torino. The club announced it on its official website and social media. "Torino Football Club is pleased to announce that starting July 1, 2025, the first team’s head coach will be Marco Baroni. The coach has signed a two-year contract," reads the statement. Marco Baroni was born on September 11, 1963, in Florence. A former player who played as a defender, he made his professional debut with Fiorentina in Serie A during the 1981-1982 season, marking the start of a long career that ended in 2000, highlighted by a Serie A title and an Italian Supercup with Napoli. As a coach, he has 25 years of experience, starting with Rondinella (transitioning from player to coach) up to the recently concluded season with Lazio. Among his achievements are winning the Serie B playoffs with Benevento in the 2016/17 season, a historic milestone as it was the first time Benevento reached Serie A, and the promotion to Serie A with Lecce by winning the Serie B championship in the 2021-22 season. Urbano Cairo, president of Torino, welcomed Baroni, saying: "Welcome to Torino. Good luck and always Forza Toro."
