Milan, June 5 (LaPresse) – "Psychologist or coach? Usually, the goal is to make players understand how fascinating and enticing it is to play such a match, rather than letting it become burdened with pressure. That’s what we try to do, along with coaching them, and the players’ response has been appropriate." This is what the national team coach Luciano Spalletti said during a press conference on the eve of the World Cup 2026 qualifiers match against Norway. "You can see the importance of the game, the thought of what is at stake. Knowing that a lot is on the line is good to understand and consider. It’s part of this level," the coach added. Regarding the many absences, he emphasized: "We replaced the players correctly, considering everything that has happened. The wear and tear from various competitions and the fight for the championship meant we arrived with some fatigue."
