Milan, 15 June (LaPresse) – George Russell in a Mercedes won the Canadian Grand Prix on the Montreal circuit. Second place went to Max Verstappen in a Red Bull, with Kimi Antonelli in the other Mercedes coming in third. This is the first podium finish of his career for the 18-year-old Italian driver. Surprisingly, the two McLarens finished outside the top three, with Oscar Piastri in fourth and Lando Norris retiring three laps from the end after contact with his teammate. The two Ferraris were far from the leading positions, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finishing fifth and sixth respectively. The British driver's car was damaged after colliding with a marmot that crossed the track. The race ended under the safety car just after the accident involving the two McLarens.
