Milan, 15 June (LaPresse) – Ferrari has achieved a historic third consecutive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the legendary French race valid for the World Endurance Championship. The Maranello-based manufacturer triumphed thanks to the AF Corse No. 83 car driven by Robert Kubica, Ye Yifei and Phil Hanson, who completed an impressive 387 laps. Second place went to Porsche Penske Motorsport (Julien Andlauer, Michael Christensen and Mathieu Jaminet) by over 0.14 seconds, followed by another Ferrari AF Corse, number 51, driven by Antonio Giovinazzi, Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado, about 0.28 seconds behind. With its third consecutive victory at the Circuit de la Sarthe, Ferrari has also taken a serious step towards winning the World Endurance Championship for the first time.
