Milan, June 19 (LaPresse) – The Board of Directors approved the expansion of the EuroLeague basketball tournament to 20 teams starting from the 2025-26 season. The Assembly also approved the official list of participating clubs for both the EuroLeague and the BKT EuroCup. For Italy, Virtus Bologna, the Italian champions, and Olimpia Milano have confirmed their participation in the EuroLeague. Among the new entries is the first non-European team, Dubai Basketball, which has a five-year license (while Virtus Bologna has a three-year license). Regarding the EuroCup, the two Italian teams participating will again be Dolomiti Energia Trento and Umana Reyer Venezia. As for the dates, the regular season will start on September 30, the EuroCup final will be played on April 28 or May 1, and the EuroLeague final is scheduled for May 24.
