Turin, June 19 (LaPresse) – The winning streak continues for Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, who secured their place in the semifinals of the Berlin Tennis Open (WTA 500 – prize money €925,661) held on the grass courts of the Lawn-Tennis-Turnier-Club ‘Rot-Weiss’ in Berlin. The two Italian players, top seeds and fresh from their first Grand Slam doubles victory in Paris (and before that, their second consecutive win at the Foro Italico), conceded only four games in their debut match against Ukrainian Kostyuk and German Lys (playing together for the first time). In the quarterfinals, they came from behind to beat the American duo Ashlyn Krueger and Jessica Pegula 5-7, 6-1, 10-6 in 1 hour and 21 minutes, marking their 13th consecutive victory (a streak that began at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome). In the semifinals, Errani and Paolini will face the Spanish Paula Badosa and the Tunisian Ons Jabeur (who eliminated Paolini in the singles round of 16). So far in 2025, Sara and Jas have already won three titles, including the ‘1000’ tournaments in Doha (hard court) and Rome (clay), and most recently the Roland Garros (their first Slam won together). Overall, Errani and Paolini have won 8 titles.
