Milan, June 20 (LaPresse) – Seventh consecutive victory in the Nations League for Julio Velasco’s Italy. After defeating Bulgaria and Thailand, Italy also overcame Japan 3–2 (25–23; 16–25; 25–15; 20–25; 19–17) at the Kai Tak Arena in Hong Kong in the third match of Pool 5.

Led by captain Danesi, the Azzurre delivered another outstanding performance, overcoming some difficulties (particularly in the second set), with Eze and Nervini stepping up when needed to help Italy stay at the top of the overall standings and send a strong message to all their rivals.

Tomorrow will be a rest and training day for the team, who will return to the court on Sunday at 2 p.m. Italian time to face hosts China in their final match of the Hong Kong week.
