Football: Czech Republic, Pavel Nedved appointed new technical director of national teams

Milan, June 24 (LaPresse) – Former Ballon d'Or winner Pavel Nedved is the new technical director of the Czech Republic national teams. The Czech Football Association (FACR) made the announcement, stating that Nedved will oversee both the senior national team and the Under-21 side.

After leaving Juventus, the former midfielder had a brief and less successful managerial stint in Saudi Arabia with Al-Shabab. Now he returns to his homeland to work with the national federation.

"This job means a lot to me; it is an honor and a great responsibility to take on this role. I thank President David Trunda; I will work to the fullest for Czech football. I’ll do everything I can to lead it to success," Nedved said in the official statement.
