Milan, June 24 (LaPresse) – Tyrese Haliburton has no regrets about trying to lead the Indiana Pacers to the franchise’s first NBA title, even though his decision to play injured ended with a right Achilles tendon injury early in Game 7. The Monday announcement of the injury, confirmed by Haliburton in a social media post, casts a shadow over Haliburton’s historic playoff run, which included a series of incredible plays, clutch game-winning shots, and sometimes unprecedented stats.

“Honestly, right now, with the Achilles tendon injury and everything else, I don’t regret it,” Haliburton said on social media, having played Game 6 and Game 7 of the finals with a calf strain. “I would do it again, and again, to fight for this city and for my brothers. To have the chance to do something special,” he added.

At 25 years old, Haliburton is young enough to return to his pre-injury form, and current medical advances could help shorten the expected recovery time of about 12 months. “I will do everything in my power to get back in shape,” Haliburton said.
