Milan, June 30 (LaPresse) – Emmanuel Sabbi scored in the first half, Yohei Takaoka made four saves, and the Vancouver Whitecaps spoiled Olivier Giroud’s farewell match with a 1–0 win over Los Angeles FC. Giroud started and played 60 minutes in his final appearance for LAFC. The renowned French striker is expected to sign with Lille after a disappointing year in Los Angeles, during which he was mostly an ineffective substitute, scoring only five goals in 38 matches. Giroud had a golden chance to score in the 50th minute on a pass from Denis Bouanga, but his volley went well over the crossbar.
