Rome, July 1 (LaPresse) – Matteo Ruggeri is leaving Atalanta to join Atlético Madrid on a permanent deal, the Italian club announced in a statement. "Having grown up at Atalanta since childhood in the renowned Zingonia youth academy, and having earned promotion to the First Team thanks to an extraordinary development path culminating in the Europa League triumph, Matteo Ruggeri now joins Club Atlético de Madrid after making 109 appearances in the Atalanta shirt," reads the note. "The Percassi family, the Pagliuca family, and the entire Nerazzurri club bid farewell to Matteo with affection and gratitude, wishing him the best of luck and success in his football career and future," the statement concludes.
