Turin, July 6 (LaPresse) – McLaren scored a one-two finish at the British Grand Prix. Lando Norris took victory ahead of Oscar Piastri, who received a ten-second penalty from the stewards for an infraction under the safety car. In a chaotic race marked by rain and multiple safety car appearances — with as many as five retirements — the Sauber of Nico Hülkenberg surprisingly secured third place, claiming the first podium of his Formula 1 career. Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, while it was a race to forget for Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who ended up 14th, second to last. The Monegasque driver opted to start from the pit lane on slick tyres and had to play catch-up throughout the race. Pole-sitter Max Verstappen finished fifth, struggling with his Red Bull. Completing the top ten were: Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), Pierre Gasly (Alpine), Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), Alexander Albon (Williams), and George Russell (Mercedes).
