Turin, 6 July (LaPresse) – ‘Did I influence Sinner? I'm happy if I did. I remember the first time we played together: he was 13, or maybe 14, and he was already smashing the ball.’ Novak Djokovic commented on the words of the world number one, who admitted to being inspired by the Serbian champion. ‘I think it's pretty obvious in terms of playing style: we have a lot of similarities. We both try to hit the ball early, be aggressive, dominate the rally from the baseline,’ he said at Wimbledon, also recounting his first meeting with the Italian tennis player, who was still a teenager at the time. ‘He was a bit like me, now he's taller than me but I was always skinny even when I was young,’ said Djokovic. ‘I remember that even then he hit the ball with great power. You could already see that he had exceptional timing and good speed on his shots.’
