Milan, July 9 (LaPresse) – Olympique Lyon will play in Ligue 1 next season. The DNCG Appeals Commission has annulled the decision made at first instance and decided to limit the amount of wages and transfers to the proposed L1 budget. With this decision, Lyon is de facto also admitted as of right to the next Europa League. "Olympique Lyonnais welcomes today's decision by the DNCG to keep the club in Ligue 1. OL thanks the Appeal Commission for recognising the ambition of the club's new management, which is determined to ensure responsible management in the future. The new management, supported by the commitment and dedication of our shareholders and financiers, is extremely grateful for all the support it has received both inside and outside the Club, in particular from its supporters, employees, players, partners and elected officials,' reads a club note. "Today's decision is the first step in restoring confidence in Olympique Lyonnais. We can now focus on our sporting objectives, preparing fully for next season,' the note continues.
