Turin, 12 July (LaPresse) – Italy is defeated by Spain but advances to the quarter-finals of the Women's European Football Championship in Switzerland. The Azzurre surrendered 3-1 to the Iberians in their final Group B match but advanced thanks to Belgium's simultaneous defeat against Portugal. Soncin's team took the lead in the 10th minute with Oliviero. Spain came back with Castillo and Guijarro and sealed the win in the final minutes with Gonzalez Rodriguez. On Wednesday 16 June, Italy will face Norway.
