Milan, 12 July (LaPresse) – Marc Marquez on his factory Ducati won the sprint race of the German MotoGP Grand Prix at the Sachsenring circuit on a rain-soaked track. With a last-lap overtaking move, the Spaniard crossed the finish line ahead of an excellent Marco Bezzecchi on Aprilia, who had been in the lead for almost the entire race. Third place went to Frenchman Fabio Quartararo on Yamaha ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio on a Ducati from Team VR46. Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia, on the other factory Ducati, had a bad day, finishing a distant 12th. Franco Morbidelli crashed at the start on his Team VR46 Ducati. Tomorrow is the long race, with Marquez starting from pole position and looking to extend his lead at the top of the World Championship standings.
