Turin, 15 July (LaPresse) – François Modesto is the new technical director of Juventus, a position he takes up today ‘reporting directly to the General Manager, Damien Comolli’. The Bianconeri club announced this in a statement. Forty-seven years old in just over a month – on 19 August – François Modesto was born in Bastia and, after a career as a footballer lasting around twenty years, from 1997 to 2016, he decided to immediately embark on a career as a manager, holding important roles in Greece, England and Italy. François' first experience as sporting director and head of scouting came in 2016 in Greece with Olympiacos, where he won three championships and one national cup. Then, in 2019, he moved to England to join Nottingham Forest, where he ended his three-year spell as director of football with the English club's promotion to the Premier League after a 23-year absence. Then, in the summer of 2022, he arrived in Italy at Monza, newly promoted to Serie A, where he took on the role of Technical Director, remaining in office until the end of 2024. ‘I am delighted to welcome François to our organisation,’ said Damien Comolli, General Manager. "He will play a key role in coordinating the Technical Department (Match Analysis, Medical Department, Performance and Psychology) and Igor Tudor's staff, helping to strengthen the club's sporting identity. The choice of François is the result of careful evaluation: we believe that his experience, gained in different and competitive contexts, and his knowledge of Italian football can make an immediate and lasting contribution to the growth of Juventus."
