Fort Lauderdale (Florida, USA), July 17 (LaPresse) – Another close friend of Lionel Messi is set to join him in South Florida. Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, who played for Udinese from 2016 to 2021, has agreed to terms with Inter Miami, according to the Associated Press. The 31-year-old will leave Atlético Madrid after four years to join Major League Soccer on a short-term contract, which could potentially evolve into a multi-year deal. De Paul had one year remaining on his contract with Atlético. ESPN was the first to report the agreement. De Paul and fellow national teammate Messi aim to continue growing Inter Miami, which has reached historic milestones since Messi’s arrival in 2023. De Paul could suit up for Inter Miami in time for the start of the Leagues Cup later this month, although the exact date of his arrival remains uncertain, the AP source said.
