Milan, 23 July (LaPresse) – Jannik Sinner has rehired Umberto Ferrara as his athletic trainer with immediate effect. The announcement was made by the world number one's entourage in a statement. ‘The decision was made in agreement with Jannik's management team as part of ongoing preparations for upcoming tournaments, including the Cincinnati Open and the US Open. Umberto has played an important role in Jannik's development to date, and his return reflects a renewed focus on continuity and performance at the highest level,’ the statement read. Ferrara had already been on Sinner's staff from May 2022 until last September, when he was dismissed along with physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi after the Clostebol case. The decision to return to work with Ferrara follows Sinner's split with Marco Panichi and Ulises Badio before Wimbledon.
