Rome, 25 July (LaPresse) – The last dive was enough to secure a place in the world final from the 20-metre platform for Elisa Cosetti, European bronze medallist in Rome in 2022, coached by Nicole Belsasso and Alessandro De Rose. The Italian finished 12th with 258.90 points. After her third dive, the first of the second day of preliminaries, she was 16th with the top ten already mathematically qualified and fighting for a place with Germany's Schmidbauer and Switzerland's Herculano. The German was eliminated and Cosetti climbed four places. Everything was decided by her triple somersault with half twist, where she received all 8s and scored a very impressive 91.20 points. ‘I'm so happy,’ said Elisa, who turned 23 yesterday. ‘I knew I had to do a big dive to get to the final and I did it: that makes me proud.’
