Rome, 26 July (LaPresse) – The curtain rose and the adrenaline immediately shot through the roof. The diving programme at the 22nd World Championships opens at the OCBC Aquatic Centre in Singapore with the endless preliminaries (53 entries) from the women's one-metre springboard. Qualifying for the final, scheduled for 7 p.m. (-6h in Italy), with the eighth score is champion Chiara Pellacani, who appeared in great psychological and physical shape; Elena Bertocchi, who was nevertheless brave and performed well, failed to qualify after a slight mistake in her backward somersault and a half twist (41.60), which was slightly slow and therefore poor on entry, leaving her in twentieth place.
