Milan, 28 July (LaPresse) – Second session of heats at the 22nd World Championships, taking place at the World Aquatics Arena in Singapore until 3 August. The Italian swimming team will return to the water at 1:00 p.m. It will be an exciting lunchtime with Nicolò Martinenghi and Ludovico Blu Art Viberti in the 100m breaststroke and Thomas Ceccon in the 50m butterfly, all aiming for podium places. The day opens with the 100m backstroke, six heats for the women and six for the men. It's a red light for Anita Gastaldi in a discipline that is not exactly her forte. The 22-year-old from Bra, Cuneo, who is registered with Carabinieri and V02 Torino and coached by Fabrizio Clari, finished 21st in 1'01"20. The best time was set by the American and Olympic silver medallist Regan Smith in 58"20. The debutant Christian Bacico, who has a bright future ahead of him, did very well, as did the sly Thomas Ceccon, who took to the blocks after winning silver in the 4×100 freestyle and two rounds in the 50 butterfly, which opened the doors to the final for him.
