Milan, 29 July. (LaPresse) – ‘This year, the 50 metres was the race I prepared for the least, but that's no excuse, because the final was within my reach. Of course, I'm disappointed, but I know I gave it my all, because I haven't been feeling well lately.’ This was how Italian swimmer Niccolo Martinenghi commented on his exclusion from the 50-metre breaststroke final at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore.
