Swimming, World Championships in Singapore: semi-finals in the 50 m freestyle and a new Italian record for Curtis

Rome, 2 August (LaPresse) – Sara Curtis qualifies for the semi-finals of the 50 m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore with a time of 24"41, setting a new Italian record. The 18-year-old from Savigliano – registered with Esercito and Cs Roero and coached by Thomas Maggiora – improved on her previous time of two hundredths of a second at the Italian Championships in Riccione last April, for the third fastest time; Ahead of the Italian sprinter are only the Australian and Olympic silver medallist Meg Harris in 24‘31 and the Dutch Milou Van Wijk in 24’39.
