Milan, Aug. 3 (LaPresse) – The Italian national basketball team has won the 2025 edition of the Trentino Cup, the annual friendly tournament for national teams held in Trento. Gianmarco Pozzecco’s Azzurri defeated Senegal 80–56 in the final, thanks in part to a 21–6 run in the third quarter. Notable performances for Italy came from Diouf (17 points), Ricci, and Procida (12 points each). For Italbasket, which continues its preparation for the EuroBasket tournament kicking off on August 27, the next game is scheduled for August 9 in Trieste against Latvia.
