Atalanta, Percassi: ‘Lookman? Agreements were for a transfer abroad’

Milan, 4 August (LaPresse) – "Lookman? This is a good opportunity to clarify what happened in a few words. Last year, following an offer of £20 million from Paris Saint-Germain, the player asked us to be transferred. Atalanta, being a credible club made up of good people, promised to sell the player during this transfer window based on two conditions that he had asked us to meet: first, that he would join a top European club, and second, that he would never play for another club in Italy, given what he has done for the club and what he has received from it." This was the statement made by Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi regarding the Ademola Lookman case, following the Nigerian striker's outburst on social media. ‘Today, it seems to me that the situation you are aware of is very different,’ he added, ‘but I reiterate that, in any case, the club is always careful to evaluate the timing and value of its players, but as always, it is Atalanta that has the final say on this matter.’
