Rome, Aug. 5 (LaPresse) – Soudal Quick-Step has announced that Remco Evenepoel will leave the team at the end of the current season to join Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe. The Belgian rider’s staff informed team management that they will not consider extending his current contract, which expires at the end of 2026. “After consulting with sponsors and partners, the team’s ownership and management have decided that it is in everyone’s best interest to agree that Remco may leave the team at the conclusion of the 2025 season,” said Soudal Quick-Step in a statement. “Since our founding in 2003, our team has gone through many iterations and transformations, continuing to evolve into one of the most successful teams in professional cycling history, and recently becoming the first pro cycling team to reach 1,000 UCI victories. While we regret Remco’s decision to leave, we cherish the memories we’ve created and remain committed to achieving meaningful results together for the remainder of the season. We firmly believe in the team spirit that earned us the title of Wolfpack and will continue striving to be a collective stronger than any individual. We wish to express our gratitude to our sponsors and partners who have supported us throughout this journey and will continue to do so in the future,” the team concluded.
