Milan, August 6 (LaPresse) – The men's singles draw for the Cincinnati ATP tournament, the last Masters 1000 before the US Open, has been revealed. World No. 1 and top seed Jannik Sinner could face fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti, seeded 8th, in an all-Italian quarterfinal. Musetti faces the tougher road, with potential matches against Stefanos Tsitsipas (25) and Felix Auger-Aliassime (23), both former top 10 players who, despite current form and ranking dips, remain dangerous opponents. Attention should also be paid to Casper Ruud, not at his best on hard courts but currently in better shape than the Canadian, making him a slight favorite in a potential third-round clash. Sinner’s path looks smoother, with only Tommy Paul (13), buoyed by home advantage, and Tomas Machac (19), a former Masters 1000 semifinalist in Shanghai, posing real threats. The other potential quarterfinals include Taylor Fritz (4) vs Holger Rune (7), Ben Shelton (5) vs Alexander Zverev (3), and Alex De Minaur (6) vs Carlos Alcaraz (2).
