Turin, 9 August. (LaPresse) – On the day of the friendly match between Manchester City and Palermo, scheduled for this evening at the “Barbera” stadium, Pep Guardiola took a few hours off to make a pilgrimage on foot to the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia, the patron saint of Palermo. In addition to the Catalan coach, the English club's staff was also present, including athletic trainer Fabrizio Genovesi. After climbing Monte Pellegrino on foot, the group visited the “Santuzza”, where they prayed in silence and received a greeting and blessing from the regent Don Natale Fiorentino inside the Sacred Grotto. For the occasion, Guardiola wore a T-shirt depicting the faces of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, accompanied by the words “Their ideas run on our legs”.
